He shouldn't have any unusual health problems. Do keep up his vaccinations, as Dobermans are more apt to get parvo than most breeds..If he has cropped ears, that is done at 8-12 weeks, and is very expensive, so someone is looking for this Dobie..Classified ads for 'found' are usually free. If you call all local shelters, and run an ad for 21 days, without finding the owner, the dog is considered yours..
You are likely to find his owners by calling local vets, to learn who did his ear cropping..They would remember a blue Dobie..

At three months of age, the deciduous teeth begin to be replaced by the permanent teeth. The replacement process begins with the incisors, and moves backwards through the canines, premolars and finally the molars. The turnover process is usually complete by the time the dog is eight months old, with none of the original 28 deciduous teeth remaining. Most deciduous teeth are swallowed with food and never seen by the pet owner. Occassionally a deciduous tooth is merely pushed to the side and retained next to the permanent tooth. Retained deciduous teeth can be removed by a veterinarian.

The incisors turn over from deciduous to permanent from two to four months of age. The canines usually convert around six months of age. The premolars and molars follow in that order, with the last permanent molar erupting around eight months of age.

The exact schedule does vary from breed to breed.

Hi Wolfe, Take him to the vet. They can tell by their teeth, how old the pup is.If you found the doberman pup,and his ears has been cropped,he belongs to someone who has put some money into this pup.I would put up skiers, and try to local the owner. If you have no respond in 2 weeks, run a add in the lost, and found. If no ones responds,i would keep the pup.I have never seem a blue doberman before.I bite he is a beauty. As far as health problems just because of his color, theres none.If you want to find out the health of the breed, just type the word doberman in your internet box.

You should take the doggy to the vet, but even then they wont be able to nail it down exactly. The baby teeth and little balls suggest that you have a puppy under 6 mo., but then again it could be just a small dog, so have a vet tell you for sure.

A vet can usually estimate the age by looking at the teeth/gums and body size & build. And if you've found him you should take him to get examined and get him his shots ASAP.

The large feet just mean he's prob. going to be a big doberman(my pitbull had huge feet as a pup and he's now 75lbs at a year and half)

The best thing to do is take him to the vet and have him a complete check up done, the vet should be able to guess around the age, I'd also advertise found puppy in the paper, He's got to belong to someone, I'd hope if anyone found my puppy they'd do it for me...

Take the animal to a vet.
They can tell you the approximate age as well as it's general health.
Without a vet, you'd be guessing at both.

By his teeth. Take him to a vet, any good vet will be able to look at the dogs teeth and give you a rough estimate of its age. :)

Try to find the owners. Take photos of the puppy and post around your neighborhood, supermarkert, stores, etc, so the owner can contact you.

Well, since you are OBVIOUSLY going to take him to a vet and let the vet check him out, you can get his expert opinion on the dog's age.

You are going to take him to a vet, aren't you?
