I have been walking like a mad woman. 2 hours 3 or 4 times a week. I walk very fast and up many hills pushing a stroller. I can feel the workout in my legs and butt and I break out in a sweat. I am also doing 80 situps a night as well as butt crunches. I eat very well and am breastfeeding. Why aren't I loosing any weight. I know walking isn't cardio, but I'm sure there are moments when I'm hiking up those huge hills. I've been doing this exercise schedule for 3 weeks now and havn't lost a pound.

you have to reduce your intake of food to lose, but if you are breast feeding dont, just eat well and keep exercising, even if pounds arent comming off you might find your pants getting a little looser as you tighten up muscles.

As others have said, you might be gaining muscle, which weighs more.

Please be careful though.. the last thing you want to do when you are breastfeeding is lose weight too quickly. Unnatural, rapid weight loss in a nursing mom can cause fat stores to release toxins which can enter the system and your milk.

This isn't a danger with healthy, steady weight loss.. not trying to scare you. Just don't do anything drastic is all I'm saying.

I second the recommendation to check your thyroid. Lots of women end up with thyroid problems after having a baby. My best friend was nursing her baby (which actually burns an extra 500 calories per day) and working out 5 days a week and eating very well and couldn't lose an ounce. Turns out it was her thyroid.

You don't mention the age of your nursing child... but in general you might not see much weight loss if your baby is under 3 months old. Check out my listed source for lots of info pertaining to weight loss for a nursing mom. There are lots of things you should know and helpful info.

a million. it really is so hassle-free as this, in case you burn off better that you eat then you fairly will shed pounds so that you want to both eat a lot less or do better in spite of the indisputable fact that the perfect way is to do both. 2. you want to do a mixture of aerobic - operating, strolling, swimming, biking etc and power preparation like crunches and weights. 3. To shed pounds and keep it off you want to eat healthily and exercising for some thing of your life it truly is why it really is a good theory to stumble on a weight-help plan and workout it really is smart, you get excitement from and do not attempt to lose it too right now.

Walking is cardio. You may also be gaining weight because you are gaining muscle. Don't worry about the pounds if you feel you're getting stronger and getting greater muscle-tone.

there's a big possibility that u will not gain weight while breastfeeding.... but if u do... maybe because the tendency to eat in excess coz psychologically ur thinking that ur feeding another human being... so just be at urself... and enjoy being a brand new mom.. you cant bring back the old sexy body of yours but i knew some girls getting more sexier after their body recovered from the hardship of laboring.. so just enjoy with ur baby.. and u have enough time to bring back ur sexy body ...

Happened to me so I went to the doctor. He did blood work and found that my Thyroid test (TSH) was high which meant it was under active. Gave me medication (Synthroid). Now everything is good and I am now beginning to lose weight.

you need to go on diet. Write down all you eat for the day and count the calories. Dont eat rice/pasta if you eat meat, take vegetables instead. Eat more for breakfast and lunch and less for dinner. Stop eating sweet, greasy stuff and eat frequently with small portions.
