So i can download more efficiently as I am on dial-up I have a package of various files that I need to download but could pick the best ones for the meantime.

Actually I should of said viewing zip files online I need to view them before I download them.

i understand your question to mean, you wish to view the contents of a zipped file *before* you download anything from the web.

i'm not aware of any software that will allow you to decompress a zipped file *on the web*, or view the individual files *within* a compressed (zipped) file on a website *prior* to downloading.

however, many reputable sites provide a thumbnail description of the zipped file so you know exactly what you're getting.

some sites maintain an index of individual files donwloadable individually (mp3, wav, midi, image, text files), with a zipped file option containing everything as a package. usually, files compressed as a package are installation programs which are best downloaded as a package.
