All day I've been having a "medium" level of pain in my lower right abdomen that heightens when I move (stand up, sit down, turn, etc) and surrenders when I am still. I am a 17 female - very healthy. My belly is also a little distended. Anyone know what this may be from?
*And most of you can save your breath, I already know that seeing a doc would be the best route, it's just not that serious yet. Thanks!

(I'm also really confident that it's NOT pregnancy.)

Things in your lower right abdomen that can give you pain:

skin - do you have a rash (particularly the blistery rash of shingles)?

muscle - have you strained a muscle? (that would explain why it is worse if you move)

APPENDIX - this is a classic, and it is trickier because it doesn't always present in the classical way. The classical appendicitis story is a crampy middle-of-the-tummy pain that moves down to the right lower quadrant of the abdomen over some hours/days. You'd lose your appetite, feel queasy and unwell, have more pain on movement and less pain lying still ... you might have a mild fever. Get thee to an ED for assessment!

Ovarian cysts - infection, haemorrhage, torsion - all these can cause pain in the region you describe

Fallopian tube - infection, particularly chlamydia

(Ectopic Pregnancy - you SURE you're not pregnant?)

Viral - are any of your friends or family unwell with a cough/cold/gastro type illness?
Constipation - when was the last time you had a bowel movement? Was it a normal bowel movement?

Bowel Obstruction - abdominal distension, vomiting, constipation

Hernia - lump and pain

Urinary system: kidney stone - classically this pain starts in your back and goes around the side and down to your groin. It doesn't usually matter if you are lying still or moving.

Kidney infection / Bladder infection

Seriously consider seeing a doc - particularly if it gets any worse. There are a few things here on this list that will kill you if you leave it too late.

I've had that before - Could be ovarian cysts. I had them at 18 and they made my belly poofy.
Sorry, the only way to remedy that is by a visit to the doc. But it was no sweat, I got some great meds and was told to lay on the couch for a few days. My belly was back to normal in 2 days.
See a doc before you develope some cancerous cells or other complications in your female parts. It's not a big deal.

Sorry to hear that...

I'm no doctor and so couldn't even guess what it could be since there are so so so many possibilities....take a look at this website though and see if anything is familiar or helpful.

I'm still a student nurse...this is my opinion..
In the lower right quadrant?? it could be a gastric intestinal problem..organ found in that quadrant are uterus, uterine tube..it could be a problem with your menstrual changes

It's not that serious? When will it be serious when you're dying? Go see the doc now. It IS that serious!
