This might be too small of a gift, but I've given nice leather-bound diaries/journals to girls that age. At that age, they like to have a place to put their thoughts in. I've also given rollerblades to an 11-year-old, and she loved them. If all else fails, a gift certificate to a Best Buy or Old Navy or somewhere you know she shops would be good, so she could choose her own top or CD/book/DVD.

Go straight to the point and ask her what she wants. Most kids will tell you frankly. Alternatively, beat around the bush by asking her about the latest kid's trend. You can pretty much guess whether she craving for what item. Worse thing is to ask the parents, because they will probably suggest some sensible gift which the kid finds totally disappointing

I have two 11-year old graddaughters and one 10-year old, and they loved their most recent gifts of Newberry Award novels. I highly recommend books for birthdays. Sharon Creech is a particularly good writer.

THE girl is 11 yrs. old and the gift is $41.00. I couldn't get an 11 yr old a gift like that. To me, she may not be mature enough to be careful with something complicated and fragile. That's my thoughts.

You're a thoughtful cousin. Zizzle is like a little musical robot, I'm sure she'll love it. Kids that age all love music and dancing.
Hell I'd like one.

eleven is the age of make up. first ask your aunt/uncle if it's okay, then buy netural blush and lip gloss. nothing too fancy, but she'll love it.
