some people think that it is the sole responsibility of parents, not of teachers, to give children information about sex. They say that education is a private matter and it does not belong in schools. Others say that sex education may be neglected at home in that schools should share this responsibility. What do you think? choose one alternative and explain why

Children shouldn't have sex. When they have sex and then get pregnant they usually end up destroying the unborn babies life. Consequences of sex should be taught and whether they would like it if they were the product of teenage lust. Teaching responsibilty at school is far more important than pigeon holing it as 'sex ed'.

I personally think that parents do not take the time to talk to their kids about sex. Mine never did, so if they don't then who will? The school right? Well, that is my answer. I have noticed that kids are having sex earlier and sometimes kids may not know how to approach their parents on this issue. Unless you and your children have a VERY open relationship where they trust you with their personal life, then they are not coming out to talk to you. I never did and will NEVER talk to my mom about my personal life with my boyfriend. As a matter of fact I never told my mom when I started my period. When I need to see an OB. She never asked and I never told her anything.
I also think that if teachers are explaining to the kids about sex, whom they do not know personally, they will prob. open up a little bit more to some one they do not know opposed to some one that can ruin them. If you know what I mean?

as a parent and a teacher both places should play an equal role OK so that's the ideal world and now back to the one we live in, after having to teach sex ed [as sub] found that most of it was wasted info TILL we got to the Q & A section............the things that the kids did and did not know was both scarey and more than a little frgihtening...............They had more MIS information than they knew what to do, plus what was very apparent was that some of the information we HAD to pass along was way over some of the kids heads......I always based my info at home on age approaiate...........not an easy task when dealing with a class of kids..............

Anyways to go back to your question I would prefer to have it home based as that way I told them what they needed to know in a way that they understood and they knew they could ALWAYS come back for clarification plus they would always check what there friends had told them against what I had said .

But some parents don't teach it at all. I think the school should teach some of it so that kids can learn not to get any of the SIDS or pregnant.

It somewhat relies upon on the instructor. some "mothers and dads" do no longer even have the faintest theory in any respect a thank you to communicate to their little ones, no longer to point tutor them something approximately existence skills. In my homestead I particularly have made it a element to teach my babies because of the fact i do no longer choose them to get undesirable information from their buddies until now they get it from college or the streets. different persons can not even convey themselves to declare penis! no longer to point try clarify the S word. Pathetic. basically because of the fact their mothers and dads and people who got here until now them have been never knowledgeable in something different than that we are all nasty an could be thoroughly ashamed of ourselves for what we could no longer administration approximately our inception. they choose expert help! I basically wish that it is definitely expert help they get and not some pedophile nut activity. it is my tale and that i'm sticking to it!
