To sum it up, in Christianity: Christianity is true because the Bible says so, and the Bible is true because the Bible says so. No, they tend to ignore the utterly repulsive acts committed in the Old Testament. I've asked Christian family members why God did this, and I'm yet to get a legitamate answer. Most answers I've gotten revolve around the "well, they were pagans, and rejected God" idea.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
Just because someone cannot see something does not make it real.
You yourself have faith. You belive that the chair you sit in will hold you when you sit down. It takes faith to believe that.

Everyday, I love it. God' Word is alive and speaks to the hearts of people. Just try it. John 3:16 is a good place to start. "For God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." How cool is that! :)

People without the spirit of God don't understand the things of the Bible for it takes Gods spirit to understand it. It is foolishness to them.

1 Corinthians 2:14
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
