I am a nerd and I am attached to my computer. Is it true staring at the computer monitor could mess up your vision?

If you dont have any visual problem in the first place, it cant make you blind. Just put a monitor shield to avoid glare. All you would experience is eyestrain and if you abuse yourself by not resting your eyes, then this could create some visual problems later.

It is not so true now that the monitors are in color. Years ago everything used to be in black and white, black and orange and black and green. It was very hard on the eyes sitting there for an eight. I believe that is why my sight is so bad today.

nicely, that could have been genuine with the previous extreme radiation cathode ray tube video exhibit instruments. yet maximum computers and all laptops presently have flatscreen liquid crystal exhibit video exhibit instruments that are basically risky if used at night for days on end.

put a sheet of film on it that dims it down a bit, i dont think it will blind you.

yes it's true if you use it hours on end...flat panels are better for your eyes...
