South of the border coffee liquor Recipe

Beverage

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups water divided
6 tablespoons freshly ground dark-roast coffee
2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoon chocolate syrup
2 1/2 cups 80-proof vodka
1 cup brandy


Directions:
Combine 1 1/2 cups water and coffee to make a strong brew. Set aside. Make a simple syrup by bringing remaining 1 cup water, white sugar and brown sugar to a boil over medium heath. stirring constantly to prevent scorching. When clear remove from heat and let stand until just warm. Add vanilla, chocolate syrup and coffee. Combine vodka and brandy in clean 2-quart container. Add coffee mixture. Cover and let stand in a cool dark for at least 1 month before serving, You may find sediment at the bottom of the container, If you prefer a clearer liquor filter into a clean container, Yields PPRox:@ quarts.

i have made homemade kahlua by brewing a strong pot of coffee, adding a bunch of sugar to it and cooking it to a syrup, then cooling it and adding 100 proof vodka (everclear works better, couldn't get in CA at the time) and bottling it and aging it for a month or two.

as far as consumption goes, only one way...pour it down your throat!

well, i suppose an enema is possible but would probably kill you from alcohol poisoning.

you can put it in coffee, mix it with milk, mix it with vodka and cream to make a white russian, pour it over vanilla ice cream or in a milkshake, drink it with whatever goes well with coffee.

ps...if making it yourself, might want to use decaf...from experience!

the do coffee and kahlua , and kahlua and milk is also real big . The mudslide is kahlua ,baileys, and vodka it is a goodie too.....
