An adult person will not be accepted as a part of society if he doesn't have a girlfriend/fiancee. Why and how could this be? I am just curious.

It's all in your head.

Perhaps you need to reevaluate your views on what society should be. You're not living up to YOUR own standards hence the feeling of inadequacy.

The world is not an absolute.

because generally our life is perveived to be shared intimately with another person. if one doesnt have that person in his/her life, it's like an incompleteness in her/his part. but that's just the general notion. in actuality, they are still part of the society for as long as they still function, they have relatives or co-workers around them, they have friends, their parents, family, you know

Not true. Where did you get such an idea? Just get out and have fun, don't worry about a relationship. If it happens, fine. If not, fine.
