Be you! Just don't be a B**** about it I'm totally independent but I know that my fiance' is still the man and I understand that his ego will be a bit hurt if I told him I don't want him to do anything for me! If a guy is willing to do things for you don't take it as an insult be proud that he thinks so highly of you to buy you gifts or do things for you! CHIVALRY IS NOT DEAD!!! I used to shower him with gifts when we were dating and as grateful as he was for them I didn't know that he felt silly telling friends that a girl he actually liked bought him shoes, jewelry, and other expensive gifts! and the only thing he knew to do was out-do my gifts and then it just got ridiculous and it pissed me off a bit! So don't take your independence to an extreme he will not be intimidated by you if your cool about being independent let the guy feel good by making you feel good! It's a blessing to find a man like that in today's society anyway!!!

im a confident final year medical student. im 25. ive literally approached over 1000 women in the last year (all attractive) and sometimes ive managed to get all the way to the bedroom without having full sex, and most times not. Im not a player. I just want to meet a great girl. I used to think that was an independent woman. But a girl who is 25 and has her own job wants a super confident guy where logistics etc... just happen to be right and most guys where it works either have a girlfriend and are cheating on her/ guy is very good looking. An average looking guy who is really confident doesnt cut it. I know from personal experience because im the only 5-10 guy who can compete with his 6-4 friends, but even then im still not getting all the way to full sex and i still dont have a girlfriend. I say all of this to explain that im fed up of approaching independent women because they often shoot a guy down and unless he acts the right way or does the right things, its impossible. Whereas a girl who is less independent would be much better relationship and dating material. As some of my successful friends say, independent women= great casual relationships but heads will clash; less independent women = girlfriend.

Well you have to let the man be the man I not saying be a dummy but let me open the door, pull your chair out, even act as though you need his help. Some of us women are never satisfied you know if the man don't do what he's suppose to do we mad and if he do too much we still mad. Make up you mind baby do you want a real man or what. Real men made you happy give him a chance to ask you your opinion so that it seem as though it's unity. If it don't work at least you have you in dependency and you can easily move on. Most men love strong women but not controlling women that know everything.

There is a time for being independent and also for shyness.
For me an Independent woman is a turn-on but there is a limit in what I will date, a woman thathas to have her way is to much, there is a time and place to be independent.
There is Independent then there is Bitchy and bossy, you will have to find your middle ground with this person just as he will have to do with you.
Men have this thing where if we are confident (but confident) we are label cocky and arrogant, I can't stress enough the importance of timing on this subject.
Best of luck to you and hope it works out.

Well, a guy likes to be needed a little. However, a guy who wants a girl to be completely attached to him has serious issues. I am feminist, planning on having a career and possibly a doctorate, AND I have found a wonderful man who is just as excited about my future as I am. NEVER give up your independence for a guy--but, if you are having trouble opening a pickle jar, let him try. Ya dig?

My attorneys assistant is EXTREMELY smart-and her voice is so cute too-hmmmmmmmm these facts both turn me on very much, and I've never even seen her. Plus, I get laughed at alot for this, but Hilary Clinton turns me on alot, cuz she's smart-and sexy. No, if a woman is not CONTROLLING and independent, that's a BIG turn on, for me anyways. And besides this , I have found smarter women to be quite a bit better in bed too.

They like independent women if the guy has kids. Then he considers her good company for his child/children while he goes golfing. lol
Only partially kidding. Every guy thinks its the ideal thing to have a working woman so she can contribute to the money matters. They also would like her to be domesticated. They cant have both. Men are confused.

Everyone is different. That really is your best answer.
A good way to find out is to ask him. But whatever you do, do not try to change yourself for any man no matter how much you like him. In the end you have to be able to live with yourself and being the way makes you happy is of most importance.

Your independant streak is like a good strong cup of coffee.
How do you make it better ?
Add some sugar and cream to the coffee .
Be strong be independant but be reassuring and caring .

Rather have a independent girl than one who is helpless and has to be dependent for every little thing
