No, there is something wrong. In researching the question, I came across a site where one woman has the following to say on the subject:

"we had one puppy who cried and cried constantly like a seagull - had him into the vet and nobody could tell us what was wrong. We were on the verge of putting him to sleep, but prior to this he'd been such a big, active healthy puppy, that I just couldn't do it. We brought him home, kept him in his basket and I fed him with dextrose. That same evening as I was tubing him I found a large swelling over one eye and when I touched it he screamed. Out came the scissors and as soon as I opened up the eyelid and expressed all this horrible guck he stopped crying and went to sleep. It was just like turning off a tap. Let's face it, he must have had one heck of a headache. "Norman" never looked back and lived a long happy life."

Look Him over carefully.
Does he stop crying if you hold him close, talk to him and pet him?
If so, he just needs to be warm and cuddle with mom and littermates.
If he squirms and cries, he has a physcal problem.
The website below may give you more insight into the problem

It really sounds normal to me. I have seen litters of pups and kittens that do this. If they are warm, healthy and physically seem normal- then the crying probably is too.

But if further concerns arise, take him to the Vet!!

As far as a puppy crying constantly.....I have seen it and the puppies were completely healthly and well taken care of.

He my have problems nursing or getting enough out of the milk. Make sure to feed the Mom puppy food to help boost the nutrients in her milk. He my need to be supplemented, since he's bigger. Ask your vet they may recomened a puppy formula or softened puppy food. It could also mean something is wrong with the pup. I'd get him checked out too just incase.

Hi Chris, This is not normal for a puppy to constantly cry.He maybe allergy to his mothers milk, that would account for his constantly crying. His little stomach is very painful for him.You need to take him to the vet A.S.A.P.your vet should put the pup on somekind of soy milk... A Friend...

No,it's not normal. The puppy could have colic or some other health problem. It's best to get him to a vet as soon as possible, like tomorrow;the poor little thing is probably in pain. For now, try wrapping him in a towel and gently rub his back and tummy, just as you would for a human baby.

There could be something wrong with the pup, causing it pain. If its cry sounds like it is in pain, you should have a vet check it out.
