I think the easiest way is learning from kids books and programs that are designed to help them learn a diff language. they teach them the basics and after you learn most of the basic words you can work your way up to the adult books and then take it from there =) i hope that helped

It takes more discipline to learn a language on your own by simply listening to audio tapes / checking out books from the library. By taking a class you're forced to communicate with your classmates in the chosen language, and the teacher can correct any incorrect pronunciation. It's hard to unlearn bad pronunciation, especially for Chinese.
If you're still keen on learning a language by yourself, make sure you find a friend who speaks that language fluently and converse with them frequently. Practice really does make perfect and you'll learn a lot more colloquial phrases of that language.

Fluent is a complicated note for me to outline. i'm no longer confident what's meant through that. I even are starting to be "fluid" in Thai which i do no longer inevitably evaluate on the point of fluent. i'm quite smart - i'm highway discovered, no longer e book discovered. i visit verify in worry-free words some signs and warning signs, so in fact just about no studying and writing, i visit communicate nicely adequate to quit someone if i do no longer understand a note and ask them to describe it to me. So, as you'll locate, i'm quite smart the following - and without formal training. convinced, I stay with a Thai kinfolk and no English is spoken - i lately had an knowledge as I had to seem up the note for "approach" - a no longer uncommon English note that i ought to dance round in Thai through affirming "the line to getting to entice close" or something like that - yet when observing television or listening to a lecture, there are such an excellent number of words like that which will pass previous me - maximum Thai human beings evaluate my Thai spectacular - my tones seem especially strong, so, i'm extremely joyful with my language knowledge - - yet, continually opt to get to the subsequent aspect... 10 years residing in Thailand.
