There are laws against drinking underage, possession in at least some areas, and using a fake ID (that on has the worst penalty). There is, to my knowledge, no law against trying to buy alcohol without a fake ID. You can't be arrested for trying without a fake ID, the store owner can just ask you to leave and call the cops if you don't. He can also ban you for however long he likes, but that is it really.

Yes...and this is the law in all 50 states.
Even if you have ID, if you're under 21 they cannot sell you alcohol...period. They'll lose their job, get fined, sometimes even put in jail if they do.

yes the alcohol laws are the same in all states. if you attempt to purchase alcohol and youre under the age of 21, the person whom you tried to purchase it from can either choose to call the authorities, or they may just tell you to get lost.

You can die for your country, drive a car, vote in elections, get married, go to jail, receive the death penalty, own a house, have a credit card, and are considered an adult but.... you can't drink???
Just shows how much our society is screwed up.
