In todays world where women want to be equal I don't think it should matter if it's up or down and I agree all a woman has to do is look. As a woman tho I think it's the idea of touching the seat with my hands if it's in a public place. At home I don't care but then I guess guys don't like having to touch them either. I think it's one of those things that the genders will fight about until something new is invented!

Ah! The old battle of the sexes thought dead long ago is now being resurrected. The man is supposed to leave the toilet seat down because that's the way it is. If the woman is one who believes in the old-fashioned chivalry, she rightly expects the man to cater to her needs. If she's one of those feminists, the demand that the toilet seat be left down reflects her will to fight for equal rights. So, either way, the man loses. Just accept it gracefully and leave the toilet seat down with a smile.

Some of us have very weak bladders. We don't have time to look. We barely get there in time as it is. How would you like to a bout with the "runs" & someone left the seat up & you almost fell into the toilet? Wouldn't you be greatful that they had left the seat down?

If men and women are regarded as equal then the correct etiquette would be for men to leave it down for the benefit of the woman and the woman to leave it up for the benefit of the man.
However, in my experience women are only keen on equality when it benefits them

Does j stand for juvenile? Of course, during the day, it is not so much of a problem except that an open toilet is vulgar looking. Women have the worst problem though when getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The light is dim, the eyes aren't focused and a dip into the toilet is pretty disgusting.

Apparently their arms are too weak to lift the seat or something. In a perfect world, everyone would be courteous to everyone else and lifting the toilet seat for a woman wouldn't be a big deal but this isn't a perfect world; a lot of (but not all) women want to be treated as equals until they figure out that that means that they will no longer be catered to.

I guess it is ok for some sob to pee all over the seat and leave it down like i see in men's rest rooms all the time. would that be better than to be considerate and lift the lid so it doesn't get splattered.
as for touching the lid, that is what your foot is for.

Ha,ha,ha,I could seem first until now I take a seat on the lavatory, you acquire a element there. next, time, if I forgot to seem down and the seat is up & marvel my b*tt of the coldness, I promise to no longer yell ##* yet sing an opera with the optimum word that i will muster to interrupt your eardrum.

I do look. and frankly I'd rather have a guy who leaves it up than a family member who leaves it down and pees on the seat and leaves it there. if your girl is complaining remind her it could be worse.
