Cats will try and kill birds, etc to bring to you for your approval.
I have had cats in the past that have brought in snakes, rabbits, squirells, lizards, birds, talk about freaking out when i seen this huge snake that my cat was just a trailing down the hall in my house, I bout climbed the walls

Cat are & will remain as hunters even after centuries of domestication. You just have to look at the whole physique, they are built purposefully for hunting. They will hunt anything that of the right size. Just happen mices & birds are more common in urban areas.

It is the cats nature to catch birds and mice and other small critters. I guess once they had to rely on that to survive but even though now they don't need them to stay alive they still have the instinct.

It's what animals do, it's called the circle of life. The same reason that lions eat zebras, and birds eat bugs, spiders eat flies ..ect. Just be happy that they eat them would you really want a yard full of rats???

I agree, it's the chase...that's how men and women are, why wouldn't animals be the same way? Also, cats tend to bring their owners presents and this is one way of showing their affection to you!

THEY LIKE GETTING BIRDS AND MICE BECAUSE IT AMUSES THEM TO TRY AND CATCH........ ITS THE THRILL OF THE CHASE!!
