we were together for 8 years and she broke up with me 2 and a half months ago. At first things looked bad and she said she needed space and time to get her head together. I love her so much so respected her request gave her space and now we are slowly seeing each other again. We are kind of dating (dinner, bowling, having fun, all the usual stuff) and whilst i know she is not ready to come back yet she does talk of giving it another chance when she is ready. Her friends also say the same thing. I know for a fact she is not looking for anyone else, this really is about her finding her own independance again. She is going overseas for 10 weeks in a few months with friends and says she doesnt want to come back to the relationship before then. If she is keen and excited about seeing me and we are going out at least twice a week would you say this is possible to work out or does it all sound a bit strange? Honest opinions please, thanks.

IT JUST SOUND LIKE SHE NEED HER SPACE TO GET HER
HEAD TOGETHER, SINCE SHE IS GOING OVER SEAS SHE
MAY FEEL THAT SHE NEED THIS TIME TO GET EVERY THING
IN ORDER. BUT IT SOUND LIKE BOTH OF YOU ARE ON THE
SAME TRACK SO HANG IN THERE. GOOD LUCK.

One guy's opinion...

"she said she needed space" that's common, and you did right by giving her that space.

But, it's what YOU do with this "space" that will probably determine whether she will be back or not.

She just might be giving you the space to see if you still have a life (without her). If you stop to think about it, it's a lot of pressure on her if you have nothing else going on in your life besides her.

It sounds like you are going to have at least 4 months. Go make some new friends, take a class, just make sure you are doing something with you life.

...and when she calls back...work her in around your new schedule.

Good Luck!

P.S. Do not! Sit around waiting for her to come back

Tough situation. My only advice is don't get your hopes up. There isn't a hard and fast answer for this question, and I'm sure she hasn't made up her mind either. There's obviously something serious between you two, but don't hope for her to change her plans for you. She has to figure it out for herself.

Good luck, man. I'm rooting for you.
