I have the memory card supplied with the camera but it only stores 8 pictures!! Ideally I would like one that can store upto approx. 30. Also, are they expensive?

They offer the best price and they also have a wizard to make sure you are ordering the right memory for your camera and with next day delivery.. you couldn't ask for more

You definitely need to buy a much larger card...and one that holds much more than 30, because you never know when you will want to take more photos (especially on a day out or a weekend away etc)
Also, if you like to shoot 'movies' with your camera, then you will need a large sized card because 4 mins of best resolution video will take up about 512 MB of memory.
I would recommend a good, fast SD card such as the...Sandisk Ultra II with a capacity of 512 MB or even 1GB. Card prices have fallen dramatically over the last few months, so they are very affordable. Shop around for the best price.

I think you will find that it's compact flash. Quite a cheap card and comes in lots of sizes, if you reduce the size of the photos in the menu, you will get more on the present card!
Nice camera.
