I'm not asking to offend anyone, I am trying to figure out where all the hate came from. I thought at first that it was a matter of people feeling that illegal immigrants were putting a strain on various social services, but then I noticed that alot of people seem to be bashing the legally immigrated mexicans as well. Why just the mexicans? Why not people who have immigrated from other countries?

Some of you have said that I am wrong. (believe that was an outright answer down there somewhere.) Or that I am stupid for feeling this way, but I am just reacting to the posts I see here. Tell me I am wrong and stupid all you want but go look at the questions about immigration posted on this site.

Like most of the respondants, I don't dislike Mexicans per se. What I do have a problem with is people, of any race, coming here illegally. They are breaking the law, whether it's a just law or not, and the US government needs to either 1) start enforcing that law, or 2) change the law.

Here's part of the problem with illegal immigrants, most of whom are Mexican. Yes, they take the minimum wage jobs that most Americans don't want. Yes, they are mostly good people just coming here to find jobs that aren't available because of a poor economy in their homelands. But they need to come here legally (i.e. get a work visa, or student visa, or just become US citizens). They need to not demand rights that they're not entitled to, like welfare, health care or driver's licenses, all things that were meant for AMERICAN CITIZENS. And most importantly, they shouldn't be getting upset if they and their friends and families get deported, because the legal reality is that they're here illegally and the consequence for breaking immigration law is deportation. In fact, they should be expecting that they will eventually be caught and prepare for that possibility. If they keep their noses clean and don't bring any attention to themselves, then maybe they might stay awhile. But with all these protests, marches and the like, they are bringing more attention to themselves, and are more likely to be caught and deported.

Maybe it is because like the lady whose husband is in concrete and hires Mexicans for less money we don't like the way it lowers the wage pool for everyone. Pretty soon Americans won't be able to afford to work in America. I wonder if this lady's husband charges less money to his customer?or is he making a bundle off those Mexicans?

Most people don't hate Mexicans they hate what they are doing like coming here Illegally and taking away public services away from Americans. Those are the Illegal ones. But the ones in Mexico or the ones that are here Legally they are just fine I have no problem with them.

I think some of the problem is that the legal immigrants are not learning English either and it confuses people. Right now all the focus is on Mexico because of immigration laws, plus they are putting themselves all over the news and that does not help them either. I know alot of Mexicans they are not all bad. But personally I would like them to come here legally, and learn English. I would like any immigrant to come here legally and learn English.

Formerly married to a real Mexican American woman, I got to know the Mexican/Am side of life & held that in great respect, 1973 to 1980, and separated since, am surprised that IC so much animosity twixt the 2 today. I think we should just kill them all and bring in a completely new set of immigrants into the southwest.

I live on the border and Mexicans hate Mexicans! What I mean is the Mexicans that have come here legally are proud to be Mexicans. But they are also proud to have become Americans and are mad and embarrassed about the illegals that give Mexicans a bad name.

As for non-Mexicans, it could be ignorance that's exacerbated by the media putting their sensationalizing spin on things.

I used to live in LA and there are a lot of Mexicans there. East LA is an area that is just like Mexico. No one speaks English. All of the businesses they are owned by Mexicans. They feel that this is really their country and they want it back and they are hostel to Americans. They don't want to be Americans, they want the parts of the US that used to belong to Mexico to be Mexico again. It's like they are slowly invading us to take back their land. If this is not corrected soon I fear it could lead to a civil war in the future.

Most people that I know of are simply against the illegal immigrants, not the legal ones.

I still think that most people believe that the illegal Mexicans are taking all of the jobs. Not just the little $5 an our jobs. There are GOVERNMENT places that hire illegal Mexicans to do work just to save money & then they turn around & say "we need to get rid of the illeagals". I know of more illegal mexicans who get paid $15 or more an hour compared to white/black people who get paid the same! It oesn't make sense! They pay NO TAXES & get paid more per hour than the US born citizen who pays taxes! I live in FL, & most of these $500,000 or more homes are owned by young (under 25 years old) illegal people! I'm MAD...
