I just picked apples, a lot of them and want to store them but don’t want them to rot. Does anyone have any proven suggestions on how to store them to preserve them?

In a cool or cold garage. If it's still warm in your area, the basement might be cooler. In general, the cooler the temperature, the better. Many people can store apples in the garage right into winter. As long as it is above freezing in the garage, your apples can be stored there.Make sure you pick the spoiled ones out the first time you see them, as one bad apple will spoil them all quickly

when you store your apples make sure you dont keep them in such a way that they get "dents",coz apples have a tendency to rot easily if there is any kind of cut or dent.it is becoz they are rich in iron content so if the inside part is exposed to air,it oxidises thus rotting your apple.so the best way to store your apples is to put them in a box/carton box in layers.put a thick layer of sheet between two layers of apple.

They are perishable however. Only cooking and bottling them or freezing would make them last longer.
