Has anyone heard of bitches having inverted teets?
One of my bitches has 2 inverted teets and she engorged at first and then she was fine. Has anyone had similar experiences? I will no longer be breeding this female so please no nasty emails saying she has a faulty gene blablabla. My sister has inverted nipples and she has had 3 children. She was able to breast feed from one breast and then decided to suppliment with formula as well to make life easier on herself. Female dogs have MANY teets and tiny poodles such as mine never have huge litters anyway. I do not breed show quality dogs, my pups are healthy, well natured pet quality pups.
They are sooo sweet though, but just not registered.

most of the time after being bred/whelping they come out.
Not all bitches have perfect breast, but still have other utters to raise their young.

I have been told that this is a warning sign for possible cancer...
It happened that way on a dachshund I had several years ago. She ended up needing an octuple mastectomy. Poor baby. But she lived several years after that and died at the ripe old dachsie age of almost 17.
