If you didn't wash it for a week you probably did look greasy. I don't think that it has anything to do with being Italian anyone that doesn't wash there hair for a week would look nasty.

No, If the person just said you look greasy.
Saying someone is greasy can mean a few things (remember when Grease used to be a cool word during Travolta's days).
Also the context: if person just said it one on one to you and not in front of others, you can take it as constructive criticism and ask person to elaborate more...is it untidy etc?
Remember as The Don of Superlatives, Donald Trump says "It is business, nothing personal". In office like it or not, discipline and appearance is important.
I mean I would love to see pretty gals dress in skimpy clothes in office but the reality is that is unprofessional. :)

Certainly not. Whether male or female, if you wear your hair long, you should always ensure that it is clean, Dirty hair on any person, regardless of race, always looks greasy and unkempt .Do your co-workers a favour and wash it. You might even attract some positive comments. Incidentally, if you wash and then use conditioner on your hair, it will look great, and stay cleaner longer.

Not knowing why you looked greasy, and telling you their honest opinion with out offering a solution a is rude indeeed. But not washing your hair for a week is gross. I'm Italtian and I wash mine daily. The slick back look can be better acheived with styling gel and much more sanitary.

That depends. If the person is a close friend to you, he/she is not rude, just being a frank friend. If not, he/she is rude despite your greasy hair. Or maybe he/she meant to say your hair was shiny but was unable to find the right word.

Sometimes the truth hurts, and it's not what we want to hear. If it was a coworker that is close to you then maybe they really were just trying to help you out, and that is why they told you.
But, if it's someone who you don't really talk to often, then it's rude.
Either way, wash your hair. Seriously...a week? The longest I've gone without washing is 5 days. After that I just can't take the dirty feeling anymore. My recommendation: Get off the computer and get in the shower.

It really depends on how well you know people and how you interprete your interactions with them. If your hair really was greasy, I don't think the intention was to be rude - some people just like to state the obvious.

Yes. There are more tactful ways to handle something like that besides telling you you look greasy. Definately rude.

No, I don't think it was rude. They were probably telling you to take a shower. If you didn't wash for a week, you could probably fry some italian sausage with your hair grease.
