Do I need to download an avi converter in order to conver the avi to mpeg? Or can i just download the right codecs for windows media player?

You just need the codecs. Download the newest DIVX player and it will come with the codecs you need. I have tried downloading AVI codecs in other ways, but the best way is to get the ones that come with DIVX. Once the codecs are on your computer, WMP will use them.

probably you need to download avi codecs.
media player needs the codec to play the avi file.

try downloading codecs..if that doesnt help...go for fantasy media player..it has both features of quicktime and windows media player.that means it plays avi,wmv,mpg,mpeg,mov etc...

Your windows media player should automatically download the required Codec, if it failed, download Codec manually.

You can always use VLC media player. I have yet to find a file it cannot play.
