well, i don't know about "sin" but folks who cut and mutilate themselves (aside for decorative purposes) are usually overly stressed out and have been for a prolonged time. seeing a doctor might be a good idea or at least try meditation and some calming herbals. too much stress is really unhealthy and can lead to all kinds of physical and mental/emotional issues if not gotten under control. please be kind to yourself.

What do you mean with cut ones self ?A suicide ?A suicide is a great sin because he/she unbelieves in God's decree.If you cut your finger or other part of yor body it is an injustice to yoursself or you suppress yourself .This act is a sin too.Making a tattoo is a sin too because it is against with Allah /God's creation.

It must be. That's why Muzlums don't cut their own head off. They cut "others" off.
