Also do I need to buy one for each of my computers (laptop & desktop) ?

McAfee and Norton are considered to be about equal in efficiency.

I purchased a 3-license version of Norton so I could cover 3 home PCs. Got a good deal with free shipping. I prefer having the CD as opposed to a download.

You absolutely should have protection on all PCs unless it will not be connected to the internet. Then, you must be especially careful not to insert a CD or flashdrive that has not been scanned.
