Stick with your doctors advice. No one on here is really qualified to answer this question because we really don't know your child and haven't watched him progress through your his life like your doctor has.

If The doctor told you he has week knees, he should have told you why, or at least, he should be trying to find out why. My grandson will be one years old The 13Th of This month, and he is walking across the living room. There are times when he's just lazy and doesn't want to walk and other times when he's raring to go. Some children start walking later Than others. But a 15th month old should be attempting to walk if not walking already. Ask your doctor to do a thorough exam to make sure there is nothing wrong with the little man. If everything checks out alright, then start encouraging him to walk. Use something to entice him. Only stand a few steps away from him to begin with. Then as he masters a few steps, get a little further and let him take more. Don't forget, always make a big deal out of each step. Clap, say good boy, lift your hands and shout for joy. He will want to do things to make you praise him. Good Luck.

That's all the doctor said? I'd get a second opinion, 15 months and not walking or crawling is a concern. What about if you hold his hands and stand him up, can he pick his feet up and "walk" while you support him? I'd start with that, get his strength up, or let him hold onto a couch or low table and try moving his feet. Those baby walkers are good too, where he sits upright in the seat and his feet touch the floor so he can scoot around. Anything that will get his legs moving in a "walking" motion. Stretch his legs out too, sit him on your lap and straighten and bend his legs slowly, try to get him to resist pushing his feet against your hands. You can try coaxing him across the floor with toys, if there's something really wrong though it will only frustrate him. I'd really get it checked out though, there may be a neurological problem in the pathway between his motor skills and his brain. Good luck!

You need to find a new doctor, and have your son checked out. He should have been crawling for a while now. And walking. I don't want to scare you but something doesn't seem right.

ask your doctor firs to see if this is ok but i would put him in a jolly jumper bc he can make it jump himself and that would work up his musles so he can get ready to walk. a walker is not that good bc he just sits and pushes with his feet so it really does not help him balance or anything with a jolly jumper you have to have some balance (no falling involved) but for him to actually jump for himself he has to have at least some balance and this may help him bc it is very safe and it would work all his leg musles and knees. i use it my son loves it he is the same age as your son.
the jolly jumper has a place for him to sit in and its kinda like swing but the seat is clothy. you can get it at walmart or kmart. they are really inexpensive too.
well good luck
just make sure you ask your doctor first i do not know what your son can handle so please consult your doctor i really think this could work though.

Try to *spark* his attention toward anything that makes him have to REACH to grasp.
Progressively, move the item(s) further away from his reach so he will have to walk or crawl to reach it.
As he ADVANCES, consider adding GRASPING BARS along the walls where he "crawls" to encourage strength in his arms and hips and, eventually his legs.

You need to take your child to another pediatrician to be examined. There may be other underlying problems here.
