A Staph infection is highly contagious and you cannot cure it without antibiotics. In fact, there are only certain antibiotics that will work on a staph infection. My son had one and you really have to be careful. He would have to put topical antibiotic cream and take antibiotics by mouth. Also, he had to squeeze the infection out of it every day. It was disgusting. It took about a week for it to go away. You need to go to the doctor before it gets out of hand and you have to be hospitalized. It doesn't take long. It can get in your blood stream and go to your heart.

Staph is a very serious infection!
You go to the doctor who would run a culture test to see which strain of staph it is. (Or see what type infection it actually is).
A prescription would be written for an antibiotic most suited for the staph strain or type of infection that you are found to have.

You would take the antibiotic pills until they are all used. Usually one round of antibiotics takes care of it but sometimes another round might be needed to totally kill it out.

I am currently fighting a bout with staph in my nose, inside right nostril. I am taking a prescribed combination sulfa antibiotic, twice per day, applying a prescribed antibiotic topical ointment preceded with hot moist applications 3 times per day. I had thought it to be a mere cold sore that resulted from a nasty sinus infection last week. The sinusitis cleared but the sore remained and only worsened daily as I had attempted to treat it with all the usual remedies. After seeing the doctor yesterday, getting my prescription and doing the first hot compress and applying the topical treatment, I noticed a marked improvement over the symptoms, with pain and irritation decreasing immediately. My suggestion is if you have any kind of sore that does not respond to the usual treatment of triple antibiotic, hydrocortisone and or a remedy such as campo phenique ointment after 2 days, see your doctor immediately! This stuff is nasty and not to be played with! The best way I can describe my symptoms of staph is that it felt like my nose was gnawing away at my face! With no relief! I am looking forward to getting this mess destroyed and back to work! As I stated earlier, I received almost instant relief upon my first treatment. The infection is still there, but the pain and irritation have subsided markedly!

You NEED to go to a doctor so they can determine the right treatment. If you have an internal staph infection, it could easily lead to a more serious condition (septic shock) which can be fatal if not taken seriously. So stay away from the chicken soup and urine therapy, and just go to the doctor. I am all about naturopathic healing, but MD's are there for a reason! Get it taken care of, and then maintain your health positively yourself.
