It's "Common Era" or "Christian Era" - an attempt by revisionist historians to remove "AD" from the culture, as that is an anachronism left over from when a majority of Westerners believed in God and Christ and all that nonsense.

You'll see it coupled with "BCE" - Before Common/Christian Era.

I'm not sure when the Christian Era ended, but I think it was when they started trying to use things like CE instead of AD.

Christian Era. It is more politically correct than A.D. which stands for anno domini or year of our Lord.
