I am pantheist. Something about being connected to everything in the Universe makes it really easy to be at peace. For you cannot harm anything w/o harming yourself in return.
My scriptures are written in the stars, sang in the rustling of the leaves in the trees and painted in the change of the seasons. I dance high in the mountains, and cry out to the world 'Wake up and pay attention people!'
But they never pay attention. Yes my religion is a damned-able one. How insane, to think that 'God' is not an external all mighty father figure, but rather an energy that exists in all! How absurd! Especially that part about nature!
Walk softly child...I may just be the devil! LOL!
Thanx...that was fun!

"Why do you believe in the religion you do?" -- I'm comfortable and I understand the layout of the rules.
"Is it your parents beliefs?" - It was when I was under age, now my beliefs are mine.
"Do you believe the scripture of your religion?" -- Scripture? - I believe in Jesus? I don't break mans laws - because I want to be left alone, not made an event of.
"Does the religious community welcome you, and you believe as a consequence?" -- No one knows me by name in the religious hierarchy. Consequence of crazy humans - yes - I never talk religion with humans.
"Do you not believe?" -- In what? I believe adult humans ruin everything GOD has given us. I believe GOD is waiting patiently for humans to grow up. I believe GOD gave us free will, to ensure a fair trial to all. Heaven will be a very different place than humans think. I can't say humans impress me, outside of the tools we have made. Great tools: death, memory, entertainment. Just no growth in spirit or mind, interesting.
Also a book is just a book. The message is alive and is not bound by the parameters of just being a book, it flows into and grows out of humans as it passes from one to another. Books are just memory devices created by man to store knowledge.

I'm a Humanist.
My parents are Catholic and Anglican, I went to a church school for 12 yrs.
I chose this religion (life philosophy) as I am an Atheist and Socialist, therefore do not believe in a superficial being in the sky but believe in humanity as a whole and regard people with equality.

I believe in the religion I have chosen (a pagan path similar to Wicca in many ways) because it is the only one that makes me feel at peace with myself and my place in the world.
It is not my parents' religion. (My parents are Christian.)
My religion has no universally recognized scripture, unless you can count the forces of nature as scripture.
I am a solitary. When I was a christian, I felt firsthand the emotional pain that religious groups are capable of. I want no more of it.
I feel pity and anger towards those who do not question their beliefs and hold to them because they are told to do so. But, it is their right, so as long as they leave me alone, I leave them alone. Live and let live. But at any rate, I think I'm going to have a lot of "flushing" to do tonight. That link looks very inviting!

your first question- my answer for this is from my grand-grand fathers we do belive what our relegion beliefs. yes i do believe the scripture, but some people dont because theyre luck of explanation from their roots grandparents. here in my place i can say a big yes, because we are religeous, the community itself created a bonding recognizing all aspects of any kind of religions, no denominations and acceptance to every and any kind of religion. we shared our knowledge, beliefs and studied the bible/scriptures of every sect and religion. and its harmoniuos knowing each other, and in between us, the respect is there. may i add to this, the religion shouldnt be part of politics. if the religion joins or participate in politics, thats the downfall of the two aspects.

I believe in Islam and I love being a muslim and I will never convert to any other religion other than Islam. I am speaking on MY OWN FREE WILL N WANT. Why ? Because FOR ME Islam is the perfect religion. The complete one. The extremist don't like me , muslim extremist . Because I'm aparently not a good one. i don't wear hijjab. But others like those who really understand the religions teaching accept me and always advice me to improve myself . THEY DID NOT FORCE ME. Confession. i DON"T fancy you flushing the holy book because it is so disrespectful and i DON'T fancy people spreading false rumours about my religion

I believe what I do because after researching many religions, I finally found one that said what I felt all along. I'm Gnostic,
and very happy in my heart & soul.
