The typical American answer: there are no safe alternatives. Maybe you should look into some of the European and Asian cars, which do not run off power but emit one tenth the emissions of your lovely V8 Fords

I agree

Unfortunately there is no good alternative. Battery cars have lead, which is just as toxic and very expensive. I was told the bettery is thousands of dollars to replace!

Why should I?

You'd prefer that I use my local nuclear reactor for power, storing it into heavy-metal batteries that caused havoc to produce and are messy to recycle?
