I have been exploring religion lately . I am not going for a certian religion. I just want to explore things about the Bible. I bought a bible today. It's the new King James version. It has both the old and new testament. Does anyone have any input on what part I should especailly read ?
What part do you like? Last night I heard the most uplifting presentation on Joel Osteen's show last night, it was on Believing in yourself . I only saw about the last 10 minutes of it , but I still really liked it.

Keep an opened mind, don't trust anybody, and stay flexible in your beliefs. There's a reason that there are so many different religions on one planet. When you figure out the answer let me know.

"Do you have any advice for people who exploring religion?" -- Yes I do:
Don't forget: WHO YOU ARE. As you explore you may accidentally end up in the deep end of the pool, not the shallow, and to prevent the loss of identity, have a back up, a person you trust above all to remind you to recenter and return to being YOU.
Too many stories of people forgetting who they are, and leaving family to be someone unknown to anyone.
Other than this scary thought, exploring religions will only make you a more rounded person, able to empathize with people better than closed minded people. Happy journey!Have fun!

For Christianity: Read the proverbs, and Psalms. One will give you a wealth of wonderful sayings and a bit of good common sense / wisdom. The other will give you a glimpse into what the worship of the christian diety is all about.

For islam. read the whole koran. front to back, and then ask yourself if you could lead that simple of life.

for wicca : go into the wilderness, alone. get naked. light a small candle, and burn a tiny bit of incense and just listen to the world. that sense of wonder... thats what wicca is.

for hindu: alas i know not. tis something i have not studied.

for satanism. go convince someone to buy you something you want. something small. without giveing anything in return..that small rush of power is what satainsm is about.

for aethism: go to a church, and ask the pastor why god lets good christians suffer... that hollow feeling of betrayl is what aethists cannot digest.

Yeah, don't waste your time. It is all fictitious, made-up garbage!
