Well, I will tell you that a friend of mine (years ago) would cuss in front of her kids from infancy and on. One day her 3 yr old said "Mommy, look at that fat b****" She really was embarrased and cut back in front of the kids.

No better time than the present. Since children will form their language based on what they hear from their parents, it's always a good idea to stop right away. They generally start mimicking sounds and words before their first birthday... so if your child is still young, try to curb your tongue. Don't forget that it's going to take you a bit of time to get used to not cursing. It's harder than you would imagine... since we've become so accustomed to using bad language in every day communications. I promised to stop when my son was born... and it took me a few months to break the habit. Now I'm trying to work on my husband.

this question is so humorous to me. My husband and that i try our toughest to set a good occasion for our 6 babies.we don't swear infront of them and we additionally show screen the television shows they watch.our babies flow to a private college the place our 5 year previous daughter informed her instructor that for the period of a thunderstorm the day until now how the "wind blew my motorcycle down the ******* street" I felt so undesirable while her instructor referred to as me to tell me,she even laughed in view which you're able to somewhat no longer anticipate that from my babies. My element is you may set a good occasion to your babies yet you won't be able to administration what they could %. up alongside the way!!! i could say while the infant starts off to purpose to mimic you, around 10 or 11 months.good success. i wish you discovered some humor in my tale, mothers and dads can never be suitable!

Your child starts understanding you around 8 months of age. Any time after a year old they are learning to speak. Do you really want your child's first words to be a cuss word?

I would suggest as soon as the baby is born because you need to get out of that "habit" and if you wait until the baby gets a little older it will take you time to do that & BELIEVE ME they will repeat what you say!!!! And always at the wrong time!! Good luck!
