Sure, I've printed out quite a few pieces myself. The sites you visit will vary based on what kind you want (classical, rock, or jazz/ guitar, piano flute)and some are music someone has figured out or simplified and written down. They scan them and post them. Just go to Yahoo and search free sheet music or add your genre to narrow your search options. I've even added the song title and come up with good results. http://www.pitt.edu/~deben/freebies.html

For copyrighted music, no. Not any legal sites, anyway.

Otherwise, any computer that can view sheet music could also print it.

(In other words, the answer for this is the same as the answer for books.)

What kind of sheet music are you looking for?

You can view sheet music and copy it at a university's fine arts library. I've done that. It is legal if it is for educational purposes only.

I was looking for the words to Michael Buble's song "Home" and this site was in my search results:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com

I got the words as well as the guitar tabs. Piano is what I play and the same notes are used in guitar as in the 88 keys or the organ.

Either buy your sheet music or borrow it from the library! It is ILLEGAL to download/share COPYRIGHTED sheet music for FREE!

Respected Asker! The information given below will be helpful to you in finding what you are looking for.
Sheet music is a hand-written or printed form of musical notation; like its analogs -- books, pamphlets, etc. -- the medium of sheet music typically is paper (or, in earlier times, parchment). Use of the term “sheet” is intended to differentiate music on paper from a recording, broadcast, or live performance, and more specifically usually refers to the print publication of commercial music alongside the release of a new film, show, record album, or other special event which involves music.

Caution: I would like to add that in reality nothing is free. One needs to pay something if not cash then in kind. Such sites which claim for distributing things free tend to send adware, spyware, malware or any other such thing which may prove harmful to computer or mobile phone. So your computer or mobile phone must be well equipped with some good quality Anti Virus Software like AVG, MCaffe etc, Anti spyware software, Anti Adware Software like Lava Soft etc. One may start getting un-necessary bulk mail. So while downloading be cautious of such things and adopt some precautionary measures in advance. I shall suggest you to read their privacy policy also.
