I have spent most of my adult life selling faucets off all makes to plumbers. I here back on which faucet works and which does not. I also hear about ease of installation, finish quality and really every aspect of the faucet. I don't make my judgments on my experience with one faucet or one brand of faucet but nearly all faucets.
I see a lot of answers that just show what people don't know. American Standard faucets are okay but a difficult to install. Kohler pays a lot to advertise but not much on quality control. Give me kohler and I still would not put it in my house. I have had too many upset customers with kohler
To keep it short stay away from cheap home center or box store brand faucets. they are less money but they will brake!! American standard is difficult, to say the least, to install. I set up over 12 showrooms with full American standard displays and they were the most time consuming and frustrating faucet. My employer would not even stock American standard faucets.
Pick a well recognized brand with a life time warranty. Go with Moen, Delta, Danze (new brand but nation wide and less expensive), Grohe or the like. If you want, go to you local plumbing supply shop with a show room and ask them.

Actually, all brand named faucets are very good. The real deciding factor is your budget and your taste. There are a wide range of styles and finishes for every persons need, but be sure to consider the use before purchase. if the faucet is going to be used by kids mostly, you might not want a faucet that is hard to clean. Also, if the faucet is going to endure a lot of use (or abuse) find one that is tough as nails (determined by price). You can't go wrong with any brand name faucet these days, because competition is very high.
