No dear. Use the fruit to substitute when you want candy, or desert, or cake, etc.

It doesn't matter how much fruit you eat. What matters is how many calories you eat every day, and how much exercise you do to burn off the calories.

If you burn off more calories than you consume, then you'll lose weight. All the diets in the world boil down to this.

Why do you think the small print under the before & after pictures of each diet ad always says "results not typical"? These women did more than just eating the special food or taking the drink or pill. They spent at least 20 minutes every day raising their heart rate and sweating off the junk food.

Good luck, eat sensibly, and start doing an exercise you enjoy and will stick with.

5 servings a day is what they said to be part of a healthy diet but you can't lose weight only by eating fruit as eating too much fruit won't help neither. They contain sugar so overeating them means increasing your sugar intake. Grapefruits are good but believe me these kind of diets are just not reliable, at least not for more than couple of months. You should find a way to keep it for good.

Some fruit has "bad" sugar, or high sugar content. Try drinking 3 22oz papaya, mango, and cranberry smoothies a day (fruit, ice/water only) and eat what ever you want, as long as it doesn't come in a package.

In order to loose weight, you need to lower your calorie intake. Just make sure you don't consume less than 1400 calories per day, or you'd endup loosing muscle instead of fat because your body needs to feed off of something. Don't forget to drink water as well. I tried that particular diet but it didn't work...probbably because I love breads and fish and chiken and all sorts of stuff. Good Luck though
