My advice:
Don't get involved with 7th Day Adventists, it's a cult.
Turn around and run....preferable to Jesus. :)

The Big Bang Theory posits that there was a stable singularity for all of etermity until 18 billion years ago. No physicist knows why all matter and energy burst into existence at that time. 18 billion years is a pimple on the back of eternity. In fact, it is really less than a sub-atomic particle on the back of eternity. Every effect has a cause. The cause is God. This is the "uncaused first cause" as postulated by Aristotle (Aristotle actually called God the "unmoved first mover").

Scientists also do not know how DNA came into existence. DNA is six feet long and yet still fits inside the nucleus of a cell. Scientists have calculated the time it would take for random chemical reactions to create even one DNA strand in the primordial soup and it is a ridiculous multiple of the time that the universe has already existed (in other words, it would take many many multiples of 18 billion years). I am going from memory here -- I think that it was Sir Francis Crick -- who won the noble prize for postulating the structure of DNA -- said that he thought that DNA was put on earth by aliens. But where did the aliens come from? It wasn't aliens, it was God. By the way -- the head of the US Genome project has become a devout evangelical Christian. I'm not sure if it was because of his work on DNA -- but he is an adult post-graduate school convert. Again I can't remember the name -- I think the last name is Phillips -- you can research -- he has written a book about how unraveling the DNA sequence has been a peak into the language of God.

Immanuel Kant said that God had to exist because morality is meaningless without judgment in the afterlife. Without an impartial judge, humans can commit any atrocities that they want and as long as human law enforcement does not punish them (as it often doesn't), there is no justice in the universe. Joseph Stalin is resting in peace after a "fat" life brought about by the deaths of millions of people? No justice without God.

I see that people can put a thumbs down on this answer but they have no real rational way of responding. This answer is true -- research it for yourself!

It depends on how you view Diety. Don't think of Diety as simply some dude up in the sky, but the force that drives us, Diety lives in the soul. ALl you have to do is prove that the soul exists which is much easier. You can go by many theories. One would be the 21 Gram thoery.

I would also bring up Diety in numbers. Like the Divine Ratio otherwise called the Golden Ratio. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Ratio#Nature

The idea is to dissect the word Diety from what you have been taught to believe in Judeo-Christian society. Don't try to prove Diety by Miracles, but by life itself.

Here's a thought...
If you see a car, does that mean a car maker exists?
If you see a shirt, then would it stand to reason there must be a tailor?
If you see a hamburger with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, all on a sesame seed bun, would it stand to reason that there is a McDonald's?
If you can reach down and pick up a hand full of earth, then there must be a God of some kind. Otherwise, how did it get there in the first place?

(Yes, I know. Wind, bulldozers, earth movers, etc. but I"m prepared for you. I said ' first place")

I found a link, I hope it helps.

Since you're debating 7th day adventists, all you have to do is say "therefor god exists", and you'll win. They will accept any argument at all in favor of the existence of their god over any argument against, no matter how trivial teh pro argument is, nor how rock solid the con argument may be.

Funny, a million ideas out there and no one on this. OK. God exists because We exist, simply. not we (christians) or we (muslims) or whatever but have you ever thought of the extreme intelligence needed to make us Human Beings? I bet you never realized the perfection in the mechanics and composition of this galaxy and everything else therein. If you did, maybe you already realize that the Creator did not stop anywhere before or after he created this idea of religion in the minds of our Brothers and Sisters. Maybe the Eternal Unfettered Mind has already touched you.

Google Perry Marshall "if you can read this, I can prove God exists" most compelling evidence I have ever come across, and he has extensive rebuttals for every possible refutation. There's more than one site with his info. Read this and you'll be well armed to prove God's existence. it goes way beyond the "can you see the wind" and "watchmaker" type arguments and is totally scientific evidence. Good luck.

Pardon me, but I don't understand your question pretty well. Are you an atheist or a Seventh-day Adventist?

However, if you're saying that God exists, then you are a Seventh-day Adventist, aren't you?

There are a lot of proves that God exists. Nature, human body, the universe; just as you've already been told: inteligent design.

However, if somebody just does not want to believe despite the evidences of a Creator, he or she will try to look for anything in order to justify his or her belief. In other words, if you want to believe, you're going to find a lot of proves to do it; but if you don't want to believe, you may find a lot of arguments against God and close your eyes to the proves which show God exists. Finally, it's the person's decision whether he or she wants to believe or not. God doesn't force anyone to believe in Him.

"God never asks us to believe, without giving sufficient evidence upon which to base our faith. His existence, His character, the truthfulness of His word, are all established by testimony that appeals to our reason; and this testimony is abundant. Yet God has never removed the possibility of doubt. Our faith must rest upon evidence, not demonstration. Those who wish to doubt will have opportunity; while those who really desire to know the truth will find plenty of evidence on which to rest their faith" (Ellen G. White, "Steps to Christ", pag. 105).

And on the following website, look for the video called "Evolution, Creation and Logic": http://www.amazingfacts.org/media/everlasting_gospel.asp

I'm sure it will be very helpful too.

Also, you may study with them Daniel 2. This chapter, and in fact the whole book of Daniel, is a powerful proof for God's existance. After all, who else could have foretold the future of humanity so perfectly? Remember that Daniel 2 is parallel to Daniel 7 and 8.

Well, take care; and God bless you, my friend!

I hope God is having as good a laugh at this one as I am.

The word of God is not to be used as a sword to cut up our foes. The word of God is a book of Love and warns against debating the existence of God.

You are either ready to hear the word and believe or you are not. We need no physical proof, as Jesus lives in our hearts and we live by faith.

I have had spiritual experiences, but even Jesus who performed miracles was rejected.

Interesting that an atheist and a cult leader should have such a debate????

All are called but few will answer......

Satan, the ruler of this world really loves your DEBATES.like the
one you are having!!! What the Bible says about satan the devil
makes sense,The evil that mankind experinces is far out of prop-
-ortion to the malice of the humans involved. The Bibles explanation
of satans origin and his activities makes clear why,Despite the
disire of the majority to live in peace, mankind has been plagued
WITH HATERED,VIOLENCE,and war for thousands of years and
why this has reached such a leavel THAT IT NOW THREATENS
TO DESTROY ALL MANKIND...So you see satan really loves
your debates.so as we can see at.Rom.1:28-32"And just as
they did not approve of holding God in ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE,GOD gave them up to a disapproved mental
state,to do things not fitting, filled as they were with unrightious-
ness,wickedness,covetousness,badness,being full of envy,
murder,strife,deceit,malicious disposition,being back biters..
And you can read on... Also 2Tim.3:1-5, Gain accurate knowledge
thats the key.........

Thomas R,
Good luck with that. I think that you might gain some ground on the complete change of the disciples willingness to die for their faith, compared to the scattered way they behaved before the crucifixion.
