It might have something to do with the fact that, like a plague of locusts, "Christians" have descended upon the LGBT section of Yahoo! Answers to heap abuse and spew biblical bile at us for the sake of being pious. They have fashioned the face of Christianity into that of the enemy, the judgmental, relentless, harassing enemy that will not let us live in the bodies and hearts you all profess God made us. Some of us wish to see where the turning point for Christianity is - when it became acceptable for "Christians" to abuse, insult, degrade and humiliate other people. We thought we might find the answer here.

Anti-abortion protesters protest where there abortions are practiced, anti-animal abuse activists go to fashion events where they use leather and fur, anti-globalization supporters go to the G-8 summits.
The best place to talk and argue about religion and spirituality is precisely this section, it doesn't matter if it's for opposing views. If you're going to discuss religion and spirituality, if you're gonna expose your point of views against any particular religion or every religion in existence, I'm sure this is the best place to do so.
One more clarification, Christianity is not the only "religion" out there, assuming one has to believe in salvation through jesus to qualify to be in this section is quite narrow minded. Plurality is what makes Yahoo Answer interesting, if you were expecting a "christian only" section, you're in the wrong place.

I am in the Religion and Spirituality section because I am a religious and spiritual man. I am not, however, Christian. You do not have to be Christian to be religious. I am a new age pagan with a personal practice based upon the Wiccan system. Do you have any questions that you would like to ask Odin? If you find yourself wanting to know more about him, all you have to do is ask, He WILL answer.

Dear, this is Religion & Spirituality.
We Christians don't have exclusive rights to those topics. And some of the most profound things I've read here have been by non-believers.

Because even though we don't believe.... We are educated. I don't know about others but I like to spread my knowledge by answering religion questions. And besides. It's always fun to see what our favorite Christian buddies are believing these days.
Also ....Did you now that Athieism is a RELIGION and this is the RELIGION and Spirituality page. Je-sus. Just go on ahead and exclude us for having different beliefs. I don't care.

Your judgmental arrogance is a credit to every stereotype I have ever seen or heard about Christians.
I reject your belief that Jesus was divine.
I am spiritual.
The claim that people must believe as you do or they can not possibly have a relationship with God or an interest in spirituality is simplistic, arrogant, juvenile and somewhat offensive.

hmmm... I think that might have offended a lot of people.
I'm a Christian, but I wanted to point out to you that this section is for people of all religions, or anyone who wants to talk about religion at all.
We can't do anything about the antagonists being here, just like we can't do anything about the antagonist Christians who go to the gay and lesbian section thinking they're sharing the love of Christ, when they're just really just giving Jesus a bad name.
Don't let people get to you too much. Most of them are here to talk about religion, but many of them really don't like Christians. Remember, Jesus told us that the world wouldn't like us.

Because everywhere an atheist goes, we have to put up with religion. It is (for Americans) on our money, in our Pledge of Allegiance, taking money from our communities, trying to convert our children before they have the ability to choose, sending innocent soldiers to die for a president's piousness and intolerance for another religion, scamming old women out of their social security, trying to force narrow minded "traditional family" views into law and buying politicians to do their dirty work, allowing bigotry to fester, pushing their dogma onto secular society by threatening with law suits, knocking on our doors, and so on and so on. This is our way of trying to open a dialog between the religious community and atheists. We have been called everything from satanists to crazy. Atheists have been quiet for far too long.

This section is "religion and spirituality", not "christianity".
I suppose I find it odd that people who claim they already have all the answers feel the need to pose questions here. Is your presence here a tacit admission that you are uncertain?

I am not an atheist or nonbeliever, but I would like to answer you because I know alot about them, they know God exists, believe me but they don't want to be accused of not committing to discipline or that they don't respect people's notions or that they don't want to sacrifice; therefore, they never say I believe in God, and the proof of that that they say on such things like Katrina or Tsunami, why God have made this? what's the point of that? they keep saying that.
