Take you dog to the vet. Boxers are know for mass cell tumors, any lumps of bumps should be checked out. It may be nothing but then again I have seen so many that are something. Removed early leaves a good outcome. So don't wait.

It might be a lot of things. It could be an abcess. It could be a fatty tumor. My jack russel had a lump that triples in size in two days, it ended up being an abcess. Most likely it was caused by a bite from my other dog.
Fatty tumors are common, and can be removed without much fuss. Just a small scar.
You'll have to check with the vet.

There are several things that it could be... taking him/her to a vet will tell you more acuratly. The most common cause of death in boxers is cancer though (malignant tumors). So you may want to be prepared. It is really common in their breed. It could be anything from a Hair Follicle tumor - like a cyst, to a non-malignant tumor, or even malignant tumor. The might be able to asperate it to tell you if it is or not, or be able to send some smear samples off to a lab to tell you what they are. It depends on the vets, and what knowledge they have of reading skin slides. If it is malignant, they will tell you that it needs to be surgically removed. Its best while they are smallest, because it reduces the chances of it growing larger and spreading to other organs. But definately contact your vet and schedule and exam and get it looked at.

It is best to have a Vet check this lump. They will withdraw some fluid, check it & report to you. I just had this done with a lump on one of my poodles' legs. It was just a non-cancerous cyst.

I hate to tell you this, but I have never seen a boxer that didn't have little cancers on them. My sister-in-law has boxers, and they all die from cancer after a few years. She has a male now that had prostate cancer.

A vet needs to look at it to decide what it is. It could be a cyst if it moves when the skin moves.

oy! why do people do this?!?!?! the only way to kno is to take him to the vet! they'll check it out and if they're worried they'll do a biopsy! people on Yahoo!Answers aren't vets! not most of them anyway, and there's nothing they can do without a physical examination
