Thinking of buying a 2001 Honda Odyssey mini-van with 68,000 miles.

I am tired of American cars that spontaneously combust or have a financially fulfilling relationship with my mechanic.

I just want to know what kind of mileage one can reasonably expect.

Would appreciate thoughts on how much one might pay for this used car as well.

I wouldn't pay a nickle for a piece of s'hit minivan. But I agree with you about American cars being worthless these days. At that mileage, as long as it's been maintained, (which means new timing belt at 65K or no deal) you should probably pay 1/2 of the original price for a 6 year old car (assume that it first sold in fall of 2000).

Update: DO NOT listen to Randyrich about looking on Ebay. Go to www.kbb.com for fair pricing.

Look on Ebay Motors for examples in price for the Odyssey.
These are pretty good cars and just like anything else, they need to be repaired from time to time, so a six year old car should sell for about 10K, but these are priced higher than that. Good Luck!
