It is a federally recognized religion, therefor it is a real religion. And I happen to know several people who are Mormon.Very nice people, as long as one doesn't mention religion.

Yes they r a real denomination, but learning about them from south park is probably not the best resource. I like many mormons i know, but don't agree with their beliefs and the fact is that the Bible states at Galations 1; 8 that if an apostle or an angel were to declare something beyond the good news that was already preached, then he was to be accursed. The best way to research about a religion is from different sources and find the parts that agree and that aren't biased one way or another from opinion.

Mormonism is a real religion. It takes years to fully understand and explain. No they don't practice polygamy. Yes they are Christian. No, men are not to "rule over" the women. And yes, many people hate them, but they hate them for the same reasons they hate any other group; they live in ignorance of the true beliefs and values of that group and rely soley on what some fired-up revival meeting and the "Jive" translation of the Bible tells them. It's a lovely world we live in. Pesonally, I love the Mormons.

Why do not we get rid of your faith and circulate away my faith on my own? what's thrilling is that there are numerous religions that have not got many adjustments from one yet another, and Mormonism has it rather is unique factors, yet has gradually gained numbers because of the fact it rather is inception and is now a great international faith. right this moment there are a number of church homes failing, those that should not be right here %. themselves off - the LDS church isn't one among those vulnerable ones.

I've only known a few Mormons in my time, and they seemed like nice enough people. Their religion is every bit as stupid as South Park makes it out to be, though. All other religions are stupid, too, though, so we needn't single out the Mormons for believing in the ramblings of a lone "prophet."

They try to disguise themselves as Christians.
They call themselves "Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day saints".
They don't believe Jesus is the son of God or the way to salvation. They believe that they have to earn their way to Heaven, that's why they have all the rules. IF they get to Heaven, they get a planet (at least the men do) and they get to be god of their planet.
When I meet another born again Christian, we are "related" we believe the same thing and we're excited & blessed that we've met. We don't try to "steal" people from other churches, we just know that God wants them in Heaven.
When the mormons come to my house, they won't leave me alone, even though I tell them that my eternity is taken care of and they can work on the rest of the neighborhood, they will continue to hound me and try to get me to argue with them. UGH.

Depends on who you ask. It is a very controversial offshoot of Christianity. They believe that they have another testament of Jesus Christ which they call the book of Mormon.
