When Jews first immigrated to US in larger numbers they looked around and tried to find the most Christian of the common first names that they could locate so they would look as "American" as all of the other people in America. So those first names that people think of as Jewish were really just popular Christian ones.

girls - rachel, miriam, shoshannah, eva, sarah, rebekah, dalit, hannah, ariel, etc
for boys - jonah, matthew, michael, benjamin, mordechai, abraham, jacob, isaac, isaiah, etc
basically anything in the bible, anything hebrew
EDIT
lots of jewish last names have german-sounding roots. ie if it ends in -stein, -blum, -berg, -baum, its generally considered a jewish last name. last names of jewish origins are also kohen/cohen etc, levy/levi etc. my name is very jewish sounding, rachel blum. (pronounced bloom)
