well depending on the seriousness of the one who teaches it, but girl scout's can, also depending on the girls age, becoming someone who wants to help others can strengthen their self esteem. such as hospital volunteer like a candy stripper, some States still have that program, but called different names. depending on her age you can see if she wants to be a mentor, you see a 13 year old can help a mom with a say 4 or 5 year old to learn new things, especially being a big sister is she is a only child. even kids can be a mentor to other kids which brightens them and raises their self esteem. have a girls day and see what she wants to feel better about herself. sometimes it can be a action of a family member just listening can help the self esteem.

If they were to get a good mentor, Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great organization. The Mentor encourages the child to succeed, teaches them skills, and models appropriate behaviors. Personally I was in 4-h, and is was a great esteem builder. Learning a trade and taking care of animals teaches you skills, which then builds confidence in your abilities.
