It means many things, but first and foremost it means the spiritual head of the household.

If a man does not accept and carry out this role, all his other responsibilities will be in vain.

Spiritual head of the household means not only teaching your children the word and ways of God, but living them out. Admitting when you have made a mistake, and making it right is as much for you as it is for your wife and children. The husband sets the tone for the spiritual growth of the entire family.

Once a man humbles himself to this role and submits to God his body and soal, the rest of his duties in a Christian home should come easily. The only exception I can think of is if your wife is not yet a Christian.

A spiritual head of the household will realize and accept that his wife is a helpmete, not an employee nor a slave. She is to help you, not take care of what you do not wish to do. She does things with you as your helper. She is not someone whom you can just unload responsibility on that you do not wish to do.

End the end, it is the husband who is responsible for how the household is ran and a Godly wife will help in anyway that she can.

The Bible teaches us in many different ways that the man, or the husband is to be the head of the home. This means that the man is to be the responsible person for taking care of and providing for his own family; making sure that his family has proper food to eat, clothes to wear, that they are properly taken care of physically, taught correctly spiritually, and such things. He is to be the one who is to make the major decisions which is to be made in the home; even though he should also always consider the thoughts and ideas of his wife, in making the decisions that he has to make. He should also make certain that any children are disciplined as they should be. And to do so, takes much Godly wisdom. He must always walk in the perfect will of God, as taught in the Word of God; so as to know how to faithfully fulfill these duties which God has placed upon him. If he truly allows God to have first place in his life, then God will most certainly help him to faithfully fulfill his place as head of the home.

The husband is responsible for his family. Much of this is his responsibilities to his wife. He serves his wife as Christ served the church, not lording it over her, but ensuring that she is protected (to the extent that he will give up his life for her sake). If a man lives this way then his wife will know she is his all-in-all, his reason for being. If this is the case, for her to obey him is no problem, as it is no problem for us to obey Christ. With this kind of love, the wife will be free to be all she can be, whether at home or work. If the man does not take on his full responsibilities, then the marriage suffers.

everything needs highest authority. the reasons for the man being the head is based on the very first man and woman. according to the bible, man was created first, and then God made woman out of a rib. Then later, woman made the first sin of the world, and as punishment, man was made authority over women. The Bible actually says Husband shall rule over wife. But not like a slave. they are also to love their wives.

It means that the woman has to be submissive and follow the wishes or commands of the husband/man. When the man is in the mood lay down and welcome him even if not interested, accept the possibility of rape, it is what you were placed here to do. Obey the smarter and wiser man for you are too dumb to manage anything except cook and bare children. Women have no right to believe that they ever will be smart enough to decide for themselves let alone be able to manage a household.

DON'T REPORT ME READ ON...........

Sound unbelievably ignorant, rude, abusive, neglectful and harmful. It is right up there with slavery. But then again there are people out there that believe that my original statements is the way it should be. Sad thing is those people follow the bible and are christian. Always thought that the christian religion preached love and acceptance not fear and domination. Welcome to the real world. But not mine for I am Pagan.

There can only be one driver of a car. However, the navigator is just as important. The driver is the man, the navigator is the woman. Both are just as important in the eyes of God and both know their place.

at the time this was written and by the person who wrote it, it meant that men should rule the home and never be questioned, so they would make all decisions and women would be the good wife they were supposed to be, all humbled and grateful for his strong leadership in all things. as you're obviously quite well aware, times have changed somewhat and women are more empowered in their lives now and have become more equal in the household. which is as it should be, ive never been one to believe in "men are men and women should be grateful to be" ....ps im the male in our relationship, lorri is the lady of the house
