Great idea. There are problems however. A person who is devoutly religious might be required to believe that their religion is the only legitimate religion and all others are to be punished and the non believer converted or killed.
Tolerance and strong faith in some stupid set of beliefs do not seem to go hand in hand; are incompatible.
The path to world peace may be the ridicule of bigots, not tolerance.

Most people are intolerant, but this is the way I see it. There wills till be war among nations, just not so much among regular everyday people. There would be a lot less hate, but the government would just be forced to reveal that it indeed is not religion that drives the war machine. It's just greed. People would soon accept that as their reality, and everyday life would be more peaceful, and maybe eventually war would come to an agreeing end of all human violence. Hey, I can dream too, can't I?
But either way, I think people are opening up. Although I'm not a christian and I don't believe int he religion, you have to realize that christians are still regular people and probably most of them do not back up war. Some people do, some people don't, what can I say? I guess there may always be a conflice, but the one thing you can do is be at peace with yourself, right?

Oh that it were possible. Religious tolerance is the example that mankind should follow but is moving farther away from. Countries including the United States were founded by their need for religious freedom, separating church and state. We are now going in reverse and have created more hatred towards our country because it is being claimed by the religious right. Although I don't believe it possible to attain, yes, peace would be with in reach as a world community.

The problem isn't religious tolerance that's conflicting with world peace, it's a general lack of respect for ones fellow human being.Religion has merely been used as an excuse for some mentally ill individuals to go killing and plundering. It's sad but it's true and history backs me up on that.

World peace can only be accomplished when Jesus returns to set up His righteous reign. People are in bondage to sin and are unable to free themselves. Jesus does save people from sin and it is that salvation which brings true peace.
Ironically, faith in Jesus is the only way to peace. Still faith has to be voluntary. So those who err in their faith must be shown tolerance. 'All are called but few are chosen.' Those who are not chosen must be loved and respected as God's own creatures. If people are not allowed to believe that which is wrong than believing that which is right has little value.

it rather is a controversy that I even have struggled with myself. fairly, what would desire to religious tolerance do whilst confronted by potential of an business enterprise or perception it is illiberal? There are 2 accessible classes of action: a million) The religiously tolerant would desire to oppose those ideals, and state that religious intolerance is erroneous. 2) religious tolerance would desire to be like freedom of speech, meaning freedom of perplexing speech that we would disagree with. i think of the 2nd physique of recommendations supplies us the superb way forward. we can seem on regulations of speech, not allowing incitement to crime or conspiracy. this provides us the thought the liberty is in simple terms accepted the place it would not impact a "bigger" good. using an identical to faith let's imagine that faith would desire to be unfastened the place it would not impact human beings's good to life, good to freedom of religion, and so on. this way if a non secular group says that its individuals would desire to all placed on sackcloth and ashes, pray 8 situations an afternoon, and demand that they are the only genuine faith then we would desire to continually enable it. on the different hand if a faith says that non-followers would desire to be killed, human beings should not be waiting to circulate away the religion or which you will desire to spray-paint religious symbols on autos belonging to individuals of alternative faiths, then this could not be accepted. In different words I agree that when human beings call for all-out war, and so on. they'd desire to be condemned. this would desire to prepare basically to those communities in contact, working example we would desire to continually not condemn all Muslims because of the fact of 9/11 or all Christians because of the fact of Waco.

Religionists should all join the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). They are "Christian" enough for the Christians, "non-Christian" enough for the non-Christians, and absolutely committed to world peace.

Humans will always find something to fight over.
And no, I can not (yes I said can not as opposed to will not) make anything (even my life or the lives of my loved ones) a priority over my faith.
