the answer lies in your question that god does not exist. god is an idea created by men so that he can rely upon some unknown force when he fails to face miseries in life. primitive man due to lack of scientific temper, thought that eclipse, rain, thundering, lightning etc were the acts of some unknown force and gave a name god to that unknown force.9/11 was the act of religious psychopaths

Wow how wierd is it that you just asked this question. I have been a Christ 4 1/2 years now and I was raised my my step dad who is was athiest and I was a athiest who made fun of Christians most of my life. I just watched that movies United 93 and it really touched my heart when I saw this. It actually did shake me up. Even when it happend and all those people died I remember that was when I was not a Christian and I did not care. But now I see from the mind of Christ and I could give you a explenation of why and how but it would not make any sense to you unless you are born again and filled with the Holy Ghost. Just like I did not understand anything about God 4 1/2 years ago. God is not to be figured out or understood my even the most wise man in the world because God is way greater then our minds are able to handle. If we compared how smart we are to a ant it would seem that we have a alot more understanding then a ant but God is even way more smater then that.

God will use a tragedy to turn people toward Him. You have to realize that we are not yet living in the kingdom were there will not be any more pain. We still live in Satan's kingdom where bad things are still able to happen. God has not forsaken us. He is building us up as the universal church that some day will put an end to Satan's reign. Realize it does not make God happy to see these bad things happen... it is a reality that we all only have a short time on this earth and this place will not be our home forever so we can't fall in love with this world because some day it will pass away. The most important thing to ask ourselves is where are we going to spend eternity? Colossians 3: 2 says "set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth."

god will allow things that people allow themselves to happen, why do people max out their credit cards and buy things that they can hardly afford and live paycheck by paycheck so they can have that big bad truck to show off to people rather than buying a basic car that meet their needs, again im in the same boat and speaking for myself here too, if i only make this much i can only buy this much, is this not a sin that is not be repented from too? what about the wealth inequality in america? would God allow this to happen if he was running this world, we sit around and watch football all day long and chant about it like a lion in hunger but we cant spend 1 minute in praying to God, and these players make millions a year but school teachers only make 20,000 a year or less and cant make ends meet and peope everday are filing bankruptcy and losing their jobs, wouldnt all this be sin too? i didnt know that killing people and stealing are the only sins around, what about gossip? what about the drama that the celebrites create everyday and the general public just eat it up like a big buffet, there are more sin out there that are not addressed.

Adam and Eve wanted to rule their self. They didn't want anyone to tell them what to do. So God has given us a while to do what ever we want. I hasn't been working all that good for us has it.
But God didn't do 9/11 Islamic terriorists did. Probably had a little help from the wicked angels Rev 12:7 says they were cast down to the earth knowing they have a short period of time.
Although people can do a lot of hating on their own. They have been fed propaganda about USA until we sound sub-human.
We probably have been told stuff about them that isn't true.
In either case God didn't do it, people did.

Gee, I didn't know it was compared to the Great Flood. It has been leading up to the Great War though. It's part of the program of the Matrix. Sit back and watch the movie. God's seen it before, It's a rerun for him. Maybe he's on vacation for oh say; six days.

I suggest that you read the Book of Judges. At that period in history, the Israelites (the Jews) were God's chosen people. They were specially chosen by God (he still loved the rest of humanity). But the Book of Judges shows that God's precious chosen people would fall into apostasy, and God would allow outside nations to chasten Israel (wars) until the Israelites were repentant and sought God. Perhaps God would like Americans to seek him out again? Perhaps God would like all of humanity to seek him out again? 2 Peter 3:9 -- "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

God doesn't create evil. God gave FREE WILL to people when he created them. He could have created robots and you'd condemn him for that too. Why not blame the Devil and the heroine-addicted dictortors that orchestrated the event? It's so easy for some people to blame the person not responsible for the horrible act....that is the Devil working in you head. God does love us...how do you relate the two?

What you're asking for is a theodicy. A theodicy is a 'vindication of God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil.' There is no satisfying answer to your question because there is no theodicy that works, not even the popular "free will" one.

God is supposed to be all powerful and all knowing. This means he could have created a world with absolutely no evil, suffering, pain, or harm whatsoever. Because suffering obviously exists, we can come to one of the following conclusions:

1. God is evil/immoral/doesn't care
2. God doesn't exist
3. God does not have the power to stop evil (which means he's not god, which means god doesn't exist)

“Either God wants to abolish evil, and cannot; or he can, but does not want to... If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent. If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked... If, as they say, God can abolish evil, and God really wants to do it, why is there evil in the world?”

You imply you understand Love, if this is true I'm sure it is only subjectively. If the evil of other people scares you then I'm sure the evil within you suprises you. I could be wrong about you, but I know God does not make mistakes.

that is the most confusing thing at times like that. God doesn't really "let" these things happen. He has given all of us the choice of what to do who to believe and how to live. so He let people choose to do this terroe to others. scary. and my brother was one that was on the receiving end. not at 9/11. he was murdered in his own bed in march of 2001. he did not choose that but the man who killed him did.
