My girlfriend manages our finances and my monthly salary get paid directly into her account, she has the only atm and credit card but gives me enough to get by each week. This has worked well for the past 6 months, however, a few weeks ago she made me kneel to her when asking for some money back and told me I would have to do this to her from now on. The other week she told me I would have to do all the housework for her before she gives me anything (we don't even live together). I am affraid what she will make me do next. I would die if we ever broke up the trouble is she knows it too. Any advice? I do love it when a woman controls me but now I am wishing I had set some limits in the beginning.

Wow this is bad. I would rather be stone cold broke than bow to anyone. I think you should go to your employer and change the bank account that the money goes into. Im also wondering why you share finances when you dont even live together. I think this girl is having her cake and eating it too. She has you paying all her bills and gets to treat you badly yet doesnt have to have you living in her house. You also mention you wouldnt like to break up with her.. WHY?? what exactly do you love about her. Do you really love her or do you feel that you depend on her or that you are scared of being alone. Seriously it sounds like being alone would be better at this point, you would have more money, freedom and wouldnt have to be humiliated. And what about her? does she love you? i doubt it but if she does she will stop being such a cow and will realise she stepped over the mark and begin to act like a real girlfriend and if she doesnt and she breaks up with you, you had already lost her anyway because she obviosly never loved you anyway. U can do better :)

It seems like she's using her control of the money as a power thing. If you guys aren't living together why is she handling your money? Maybe you should stop your check from going to her account. Send the check to you and set some limits- they don't have to be crazy limits, stuff like no kneeling to get money and anything else that bothers you. If she agrees or you reach a compromise, then you can switch the check back to the account it's at now.

Oh man you got yourself a dominatrix. If this is not what you are after then take some control back and change the account your pay gets paid into and don't tell her and see what she says. It is YOUR money, girlfriends do not need to be managing boyfriends money or making you beg for it. Grow a backbone and tell her you don't want this in a relationship. She's only doing this because she can.

Set some new rules with her, have your check moved to a different account that only you have access to, or be prepared to probably be totally cleaned out within the next few months...
There's no way in the world I'd give someone else total control over my paycheck...I don't care who they are...you're askin' to be taken for a ride buddy...

whoa. sounds like your girl has some major control issues. separate your money before she takes it all. you guys need to start over with some mutual understanding of how situations like this should be handled. otherwise, don't stay in a relationship like this or pretty soon she'll be asking you to carry her across the parking lot so she doesnt have to get her shoes dirty

I would say get your own account or your own card for the account. NO offence to you girl but if you guys have been sharing this and she is suddenly make you beg for money, something isn't right.

u need to set her straight. tell her listen i bring home the money and i will spend it as i please and maby ill give u some if i fell like it and if she catches a big attitude tell her it OVER. and shell probably respect you alot more because shell no that your not gona be her dormat anymore
