It is Fungus.

It is hard and time-consuming to get rid of.

The prescription drug Lamisl is helpful.

Keep your foot clean, use antibacterial soap, let your foot breathe as much as possible.

And above all soak the entire toe twice a day in a hydrogen peroxide (over the counter drugstore brands are fine) as well as twice a day in a 50/50 solution of Alcohol and Vinegar.

Good Luck!

That would definitely be nail fungus and I have not found a good cure for it. The usual meds that Drs. give you don't work. I have heard of trying vinegar or Listerine to soak it in that is suppose to kill the fungus but it is hard to be as consistent with that as you would need to be to get results. I will be interested if someone out there has a better idea.

The best cure for a toe nail Fungus like yours is a product called '
"Australian body care tea tree" you must order it from the UK
IT works better than anything the doctors can give and you just apply the straight tea tree right onto the nail!
takes a bit but works great and its NATURAL!!
order on line

Yes. Be patient, nail fungus takes a long time to go away. You may have to be on medication for several months.

it does sound like a nail fungus. I work partime for a foot dr. and they usually prescribe lamisl but it takes 6 mos or longer to work and sometimes it doesn't work.. Another think I've heard them say is to use Vicks vapo rub on it. It's worth a try...I don't know how good it works though, I never asked them.
