Probably. But that's really an unhealthily low number of calories to eat. It may not even be sustainable - your body may go into "starvation mode" and start hoarding calories. Or you may find some other bad health side effects like headaches and dizziness.
A pound = 3500 calories. To meet your 15 pound weight loss goal by Christmas, which is 74 days away, you'd need to burn off/eliminate about 700 calories per day. To lose 10 pounds, you'd need to burn off/eliminate about 400 calories per day.
The claim on the calculator at the site listed below is that a 150 pound woman running a mile burns 98 calories, and if she runs 2 miles she burns up 196 calories. So if you can manage to run two miles instead of one, you'll only need to eliminate about 200 calories a day from your diet to lose ten pounds - that's only about two slices of bread or toast per day.
If you can stand to run two miles per day and change your diet just a little - lower it the 200 calories per day and perhaps concentrate on eating a really sensible diet with plenty of produce, reduce fats, concentrate on complex carbohydrates instead of simple ones - your weight loss should be less painful to achieve and more sustainable to keep once you get there.
Regardless of which goal you meet, I'll bet you look great already. 150 pounds really isn't bad for a woman who's 5'8".

First off, I would suggest much under a 1000 calories a day, especially with that much running. Science tells us that 2 1/2 pounds per week is the most you should think about trying to lose safely. Any more than that, and you put your health in great peril.

You are an idiot.
You could easily lose that much by then, with exercise ALONE.
If you do it your way you will do a lot of damage. You will loose but then soon plateau and then put on weight before december. Perhaps even more than you are now.
You will also probably be too weak to do any decent amount of exercise and could end up binging from depriving yourself.
Eat sensibly. About 1500 calories per day. NO LESS than 1000. And exercise.

Would definitely think so.
Just to make sure I would try and keep the carbs on the low side. I have found that to work.
But 1000 calories and 2 miles should put you well on the POSITIVE burn rate.
Another suggestion. I run 3 miles, 6 days a week -- but I wear 5 pounds of wrist weights ... about $9 from Wal-Mart. Just adds a bit more resistance.
Best of luck. I am SURE you will do it. Many thanks.

No, because if you eat under 1000 calories a day, you will pass out and not be able to run. Just eat sensibly! You need a balanced diet, and check serving sizes. Most people would be surprised at the size a 'serving' of anything is.

This sounds like a poor plan. Eating that few calories may not give you the nutrients that you need, especially if you decide to take on exercise. First find out how many calories that you are eating and then determine how much you need to reduce it by to get to your goal. You should have no problem getting to your goal by Christmas. Just discipline. Check out the website below.

Yes, but it's not healthy. Cutting 3,500 calories equals a 1 pound loss.

If you eat <1000 cal/day you can be in a coma for the next three months and lose 10lbs. I would suggest 1500 cal/day & 2 miles. You'll still hit your target (remember, 10lbs by xmas = 1lb/week. That's not that hard).

Well the number one thing would be to eat a healthy breakfast every morning. It boosts up your metabolism so the food you eat will be burned off faster! Also, taking a jog every once in a while would also help.

don't cut your calories, try eating healthy but enough calories, like at least 1500-1800. When you cut back drastically you just train your body to get by on less.
