My fire alarm doesn't stop beeping! I pressed the test button to test it out, but now it keeps beeping every 30 seconds (like "beep", just a single one)!! I can't pull the battery because its an electric-powered alarm and I have to go to bed soon. What can I do? There's two buttons that say SILENCE and TEST....silence doesn't seem to do the trick. Help!!

Thanks for the suggestions, but there is NO battery in the alarm. And it is STILL beeping :(

If it doesn't turn off in 10 minutes, I have a baseball bat that I'll use to bash it off the wall I guess.

Alright folks, so I opened it up and there was no battery...I guess it is wired to the house electricity. So....I just cut the electrical wire and it shut off. I'll deal with it in the morning. Good night! :)

LOL, mine did this too. Even a hard-wired fire/smoke alarm should have a back-up battery. Get out a chair, climb up there, read the base, it should tell you how to open it and then pull the dang battery out. I don't envy you. What a pain just before bed!

I don't know what brand you have, but my wife and I had the same problem with ours, and we finally realized we had to change the batteries. That worked, and our fire alarms haven't beeped since. God Bless you.

All fire alarms have a battery (wouldn't work if the power was out). They beep when the batt is low

No Battery? Either it has a battery or you have a smoke detector that operates on AC current only. (Electricity in the house wiring). In that case, it may be going bad. More likely it has a battery in it for "Battery backup" in case you lose electrical power.

BUT.....I would think it does have a battery and the battery needs replacing. Pops

Hi Vik ! Your fire alarm is telling you that it is very hot at your place. Actually it is as hot as hell. Check the casing to see if it has any numbers stamped on it; such as 666 or 999. If so it was meant for "somebody" else`s residence.Did you get any "freebies" with it, such as a pair of horns and a toasting fork?

if its wired in then it should not be beeping thats a low battery thing. you may have to turn off a breaker so that you can sleep and worry about it tomorrow when you can talk to a company rep.

Replace the battery inside of the fire alarm.
