It sounds to me like your little kittie felt jealous and possibly threatened. When someone brings home their baby for the first time, you often hear that the dog or cat did something they never do, like poop on the floor. Sometimes a cat will pee in the crib or something. Your little kitten may be feeling like she is going to lose the attention and ahve to share the love. As long as you keep on giving her just as much attention as you always did, she will soon learn that she has nothing to be afraid of and there is no reason to poop on the floor. She wanted to get your attention and it certainly worked, now didn't it? She knows what she's doing. Hang in there and give her a few days to get used to the other one. And I would suggest cleaning the mess with beach so she won't smell where the mess was and do it again. She is so young that the scent of that mess may confuse her and get her un-litter trained. Good luck my feline friend!

I think you might expect that with an older cat. I don't think it is very meaningful in a kitten. Is the other cat also a kitten? In order not to start a problem it would be best to confine her to a small space for a while to be sure she is using her box as she has done in the past. If the other cat is a kitten you will need to have two or three boxes readily available around the house.
Kitten are not neurologically mature enough to "hold it" and go in search of a box. Nip this in the bud with at least three boxes for now.

I had a cat once, and I brought home a stray kitten. My cat came in the front door and saw the kitten. I could see the hurt and jealousy in my cat's eyes. She turned around and walked back out the door. She was still hurtful towards me for a day, and she wouldn't acknowledge the kitten for two days. Then, they were best friends forever.

She may be marking her territory, and letting the other cat know it firsthand. She may not be appreciative to having an "interloper" come into what she considers her house. Give her some time, she might get used to the other cat. I hope it's another female, unless you want a lot of kittens around.

Your cat wasn't scared, she was angry and jealous. YOU were paying attention to another cat.
You need to pay a lot of attention to your old cat. You need to clean the floor so she doesn't get used to pooping on that spot. You should have separate litter pans for the cats and separate food bowls.

The first cat will never take to the new cat. It may have done it out of fear or anger. Not a good idea to bring in another cat. Good Luck! :)

well... your cat is probably pissed off b cause u have another one now.... from personal expierence ive noticed that cats get jealous but they show it in the calmest way but in the biggest way to make their owners mad.... ( i read that in a magazine ) i say take the other cat out of its cage and... let it kind of find its way around the other cat.. let your previous cat do the same so they get used to eachother...
